Who is MSE?

Madison Street Energy (“MSE”) provides financial options to wind, solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) developers, project owners & landowners including renewable energy lease buyouts and ground lease acquisitions and leasebacks. MSE partners with Solar and BESS developers to reduce their project budgets by paying above market prices to acquire project land in order to lease the property to the project owners. MSE also works with Wind, Solar and Energy Storage project landowners to provide them with various type of renewable lease buyout options so they can convert their anticipated future rental payments into large immediate lump sum cash payments.

 

When I sell my lease rights who then owns the land?

Our lease buyout program facilitates the purchase of the lease rights only. In a straightforward transaction the landowner retains all rights to the land. If, however, a landowner is interested in selling property along with the lease rights, our team welcomes the opportunity to make that deal.

 

If I sell my lease rights to MSE and the project developer/owner adds new towers or new roads or causes crop damages, am I still compensated?

Yes. As the landowner you will continue to receive all payments associated with any impact to your property. MSE will only receive revenue associated with energy produced by the project.

 

Can I sell a percentage of my lease rights?

Yes. MSE works with each landowner to construct a transaction that fits his/her individual financial needs and goals.

 

Why sell my lease rights?

MSE’s lease buyout programs give you control of the timing of when you receive the value of your long-term leases. The revenue earned can then be deployed in any number of ways. For example, paying-off outstanding debts, taking advantage of high interest rates and making a much higher return on your money, helping your family with their needs, giving back to your community and faith, or investing in equipment or other real assets. This option also reduces the loss of value due to inflation and interest rates and can make estate and tax planning easier and less expensive.

 

Will the sale of my lease rights prevent me from selling my property in the future?

No. Selling the lease rights to MSE will not prevent or affect in any way your ability to sell your property in the future.
